Retail use case
Multi-carrier connectivity for registers, customer WiFi, handhelds, and multi-site rollout.
When the lanes go down, the store stops. A retail store makes its money in a narrow window and stops making it the moment the lanes go down. Registers, mobile checkout, and the handhelds the floor team carries all run on the same circuit, and so does the customer WiFi the loyalty app depends on. Single-carrier service ties every location to one contract, so a store on a weak part of that carrier's map runs slow every day it is open, and failover inside that contract only moves the store to another tower on the same network. A queue that stops moving on a Saturday is not recovered on Monday. MergeWiFi puts every location on all major carriers at once, with the strongest one selected automatically at each address.
Where MergeWiFi deploys
| Application | What it solves | Recommended stack |
|---|---|---|
| Backup Circuit | Automatic failover when the store circuit fails, so the lanes keep taking cards instead of dropping to cash only or closing. | Max (5G), Unlimited plan, Watchtower |
| POS and Payment Terminals | Registers, mobile checkout, and card readers keep authorizing through peak hours and holiday weekends. | Max (5G), Unlimited plan, Static IP where the payment vendor requires it, Watchtower |
| Customer WiFi | Guest connectivity on the sales floor, kept separate from the networks carrying payment and inventory traffic. | Max (5G), Unlimited plan, Watchtower, Managed networking where the store network is in scope |
| Inventory and Handhelds | RF scanners, price checkers, and stock devices working in the stockroom and at the loading dock where store WiFi thins out. | Max (5G), Unlimited plan, Watchtower, Mini for staff devices moving between locations |
| Pop-Up and Seasonal | A location trading in days rather than months, live before a circuit could be ordered and gone when the lease ends. | Max (5G), Unlimited plan, Watchtower |
| Multi-Site Rollout | One connection, one plan, and one bill across the whole estate, with no circuit negotiation per address. | Max (5G) per site, Unlimited plan, Watchtower |
Why MergeWiFi
- All-carrier access. One device reaches every major carrier, never limited to a single site contract.
- Automatic carrier selection. Failover moves between carriers, not just between towers on the failing one.
- Zero-trust security. Watchtower enforces security at the SIM, on Watchtower-enabled hardware.
- Fully managed service. Deployed, monitored and supported by MergeWiFi, not by your customer's team.
