Remote monitoring and static IP

How MergeWiFi routers are watched and fixed from the cloud, and how a static IP lets your own systems reach the equipment at a site.

Sales sheetUpdated November 6, 2026

Know how every site is doing without driving to it. Your routers are monitored and supported by MergeWiFi from the cloud. Add a static IP when your own systems need to reach the equipment at the site.

Watched and fixed from the cloud

  • Online or not. Each router reports whether it's active and answering, so a site that drops off is easy to spot.
  • Signal and tests. Its network, signal and tower, plus speed tests and network scans run on demand.
  • A record of it all. Data used, uptime checks and every action taken on the router, kept as history.
  • Fixed remotely. Restarts and Wi-Fi or network settings, changed with no site visit. A restart takes a minute or two.

Static IP: a fixed address for your equipment

Cameras, recorders and controllers often need to be reached from outside the site. A static IP gives them a way in.

  • An address that stays the same. The site gets a public IP address that doesn't change, so your own systems always know where to find it.
  • Port forwarding. Send a port on that address to one device on the site's network, such as a camera or a web page.
  • Billed with your plan. A static IP is a monthly add-on, billed with your plan, on the routers and plans that offer it.

Setting up a static IP

  1. Add it to your order. Ask your partner for a static IP with a router and plan that offer it.
  2. Say what to reach. Which device on the site, and the port it listens on.
  3. Set up remotely. The rule is set from the cloud and applies on the router within minutes.
