Airports use case
Multi-carrier connectivity for vendors, kiosks, gate access, cargo, and operations.
Four buyers, one property, and no wire to most of it. An airport is not one customer, it is several sharing a footprint. Airport authority IT, public safety, cargo operations, and the concessionaires in the terminal each buy their own connectivity, and most of what they need sits where nobody is going to trench a circuit: a remote gate, a cargo staging yard, a ramp, a kiosk in a satellite lot. Single-carrier service cannot cover that footprint, because coverage is fixed to whichever contract each party signed, and failover inside that contract only moves the connection to another tower on the same network. MergeWiFi puts every one of those endpoints on all major carriers at once, with Watchtower zero-trust security on the connections carrying payment and access traffic.
Where MergeWiFi deploys
| Application | What it solves | Recommended stack |
|---|---|---|
| Vendor and Concessionaire Circuits | Primary or backup connectivity for shops, restaurants, and service vendors on airport property, each with its own payment traffic. | Max (5G), Unlimited plan, Static IP where the payment vendor requires it, Watchtower |
| Check-In Kiosks | Primary or backup connectivity for check-in and self-service kiosks in terminals and remote lots. | Max (5G), Unlimited plan, Watchtower |
| Baggage Handling Devices | Scanning devices for handlers working ramps, belts, and sort areas where terminal WiFi does not reach. | Mini, Unlimited plan, No Watchtower on Mini |
| Secure Gate Access | Gate and perimeter access control at points spread across the property with no wired network run to them. | Managed IoT SIMs with Watchtower, Mount for outdoor installs |
| Cargo Registration and Queuing | Truck registration, queuing, and gate check systems at cargo entrances and staging yards. | Max (5G), Unlimited plan, Watchtower, Static IP where required |
| DPS and Operations Vehicles | In-vehicle connectivity, dash cams, and body cam upload for airport police and operations crews moving airside and landside. | Mount permanent, Mini shared, Unlimited plan, No Watchtower on Mini |
| Employee Devices | Tablets and laptops for operations, maintenance, and inspection staff across terminals and airfield. | Mini, Unlimited plan |
| Fixed IoT Across Property | Sensors and connected equipment at airfield, utility, and remote locations, with no router at every point. | Managed IoT with Watchtower |
Why MergeWiFi
- All-carrier access. One device reaches every major carrier, never limited to a single site contract.
- Automatic carrier selection. Failover moves between carriers, not just between towers on the failing one.
- Zero-trust security. Watchtower enforces security at the SIM, on Watchtower-enabled hardware.
- Fully managed service. Deployed, monitored and supported by MergeWiFi, not by your customer's team.
